Introducing 9Velo Super Wide GV SW Gravel Wheels: A Bold Leap Forward in Gravel Performance

What do you define as a pure gravel ride? You asked, and we delivered. The all-new 9Velo super wide GV45 SW gravel wheels take everything you loved about the GV 2.0, crank it up a notch, and pack it into a super-wide, lightweight, trail-ready package built for serious adventure.

But these aren’t just any wheels—they’re part of a bigger vision. At 9Velo, we believe that gravel riding deserves purpose-built, wider wheels that optimize traction, comfort, and speed. While the industry has been slow to adopt super-wide gravel-specific rims, we have already put it into action to redefine what’s possible on unpredictable terrain and to push the boundaries of what your gravel setup can do.

What Sets GV SW Apart?

The ultra-wide 32mm internal width / 38mm external width is where the GV SW wheels shine most. This expanded rim width can accommodate wider tires for more stability, better grip, and enhanced tire support.

While at such an ultra-wide rim width and hooked rim profile, the GV45 SW keeps the lightweight at less than 1400 grams. Combined with the trusted T18 ratchet system hubs carried from beloved GV 2.0 gravel wheels, it offers smooth engagement and fast response.

The titanium freehub body upgrade is available for riders seeking extra durability (currently we have titanium Shimano HG and titanium Sram XDR freehub bodies). 45T ratchet upgrade is also available, providing quicker engagement for powering through technical terrain and cornering.

Here is a list of the features of the GV45 SW gravel wheels:

Feature Details
32mm Internal Width/38mm External Width Accommodates wider tires for improved traction and cornering; more tire volume also means improved grip, control, comfort and shock absorption in gravel roads.
Tape-free Rims No-drill rim bed offers effortless tubeless setup.
Light Weight 1360 grams (shimano freehub body, +-30g) –  Precision–engineered carbon rims account for reduced wheelset weight without sacrificing strength, and enhance climbing and responsiveness.
Hub System Trusted T18 ratchet system (carried over from GV 2.0) for smooth, reliable engagement
Titanium Freehub Upgrade (Optional) Titanium freehub body option available for durability (the weight penalty is 18 grams heavier than the standard alloy freehub body).
45T Ratchet Upgrade (Optional) 45T ratchet upgrade enables quicker power engagement in punchy sections, and technical climbs and routes.
Steel Spoke Reliable, well-recognized and compliant Sapim CX-Ray spokes
Multiple Freehub body Options Convenient and easy freehub body exchange between different groupset systems, and no tools are needed.

Wider, Lighter and Bolder

Right now, there aren’t many wheels designed with super-wide gravel-specific rims, but we believe gravel deserves to add and bring in a gravel-specific design language, different from the road-inspired rims. The GV SW offers a bold design built for serious gravel riders who push limits.

Whether you're racing, adventuring, or just chasing the horizon, the GV SW is ready for you to experience gravel-specific riding with no limits.
